Medical journal of the Horatio, steam guard ship from 23 January to 31 December 1852 by Robert Grahame, Surgeon, during which time the said ship was employed at Sheerness.

Folio 12: case no 21, William Streeter, aged 25, Corporal of Marine; taken ill at Sheerness; sick or hurt, accident, while on leave was lodging in a small public house called 'Duke of Clarence' in Sheerness, on the night of 29 September 1852, a fire accidentally occurred including the house that the corporal was lodging, owning to some unexplained cause he was unable to make his escape and was almost totally consummed; put on sick list 29 September 1852, died 29 September 1852. The Captain with 130 ship's company was ordered to Spithead to join the Steam Squadron to accompany Her Majesty the Queen on her summer cruise in HMS Barracouta [folio 18], diseases that prevailed on board [folio 18], also regarding the ship's compliment and arrangement of accommodation on board [folios 20-21].
