The terms of reference of the Committee of Inquiry into the Fishing Industry were to assess, in relation to developments in fishing and the marketing of fish, the size and pattern, and implications, of an economic fishing industry in the UK. Its chairman was Sir Alexander Fleck, and its joint secretaries were Miss M E Vince (Fisheries Department, MAFF) and I L Sharp (Fisheries Division, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland). The report was published as Cmnd 1266 in 1961. |
