The CMS series contains files covering the 1961-1963 negotiations for UK accession to the European Economic Community (EEC) with emphasis on the need to maintain preferential treatment for Commonwealth countries and arrangements for a transitional period of adjustment for the UK from its own agricultural support system to a common agricultural policy.
