Under the terms of section 26 of the Agricultural Marketing Act 1958 an agricultural marketing reorganisation commission was appointed on 18 August 1967 'to consider the present arrangements for the marketing and distribution of shell eggs and egg products, including the working of the British Egg Marketing Scheme, 1956 and other matters relevant thereto, and to make recommendations for the future.' The report was presented to Parliament in June 1968 (Cmnd 3669). |
