Administrative / biographical background:

The Central Veterinary Laboratory began its research work into the diseases of animals in 1894 in rooms at Whitehall Place. The Laboratory moved to Sudbury, in 1908 to Alperton Lodge, Wembley, and finally in 1917 to new buildings at Weybridge.
