Description:

Files of the various agriculture ministry divisions concerned with livestock improvement for horses, beef and dairy cattle, sheep and pigs.

The series deals with official relations with such organisations as the National Stud, the Pig Industry Development Authority and the National Pig Progeny Testing Stations, and concern general policy on livestock improvement, import and export of breeding animals, licensing of animals, and artificial insemination, as well as the operation of such legislation and schemes as the Horse Breeding Act 1918, the Docking and Nicking of Horses Act 1949, the Heavy Horse Premium Scheme, the Premium Boar Scheme, the Sheep Recovery Programme, 1944, ram control orders and the Premium Bull Scheme.
