Catalogue description Ministry of Food: Supply Department: Groceries and Sundries Group

Files of the Ministry of Food control divisions responsible for the procurement, distribution, processing, and, sometimes, wholesale and retail price control of confectionery, cocoa, coffee, tea, sugar, and starch. The papers are generally those dated between 1940 and 1955. Exceptionally a few papers outside this date range have been included to preserve continuity.

Some of these files were used in connection with the preparation of the History of the Ministry of Food during the Second World War.
