Description:

Records of the Freight Coordination Division and Freight Policy and Road Haulage Division concerning general policy relating to the coordination of freight transport and the integration of freight services into the public sector. Some of the records relate to the introduction of the Transport Act 1968 and the creation of the National Freight Corporation under this statute. Some files from NTA (otherwise in MT 87), NTB (otherwise in MT 88) and TPG files (otherwise in MT 160) were re-registered into the FC series. These files relate to nationalised transport and transport policy.
