J 421850-1900Chancery and Supreme Court of Judicature, High Court of Justice, Chancery Division: Master Jobson's Miscellaneous Books
Miscellaneous Books transferred from the chambers of Master William Henry Oswald Stewart Jobson, who served in the Chancery Division of the High Court from 1913 until 1917. The series does include material generated by his predecessors and inherited by him. The predecessors of Master William Henry Oswald Stewart Jobson (1912-1917) in his role as a Master/Chief Clerk were Master Edward Lionel Clarke (1880-1911), Master Joshua Bird Allen (1870-1879) and, for causes with initial letters G-K, Master Edward Bloxam (1867-1882) and Master Edward Weatherall (1858-1866); and for causes with initial letters L-N, Master Henry Leman (1852-1872).
Most of the books relate to accounts in suits and the making of court orders. There are also some files concerning company winding-up proceedings.
