King's Bench indictments files for all counties.
The indictments are overwhelmingly those initiated before inferior courts, especially the Central Criminal Court, Assizes and Quarter Sessions, but called into King's Bench on writs of certiorari to be determined.
By the 1880s there were only a handful of indictments for each year, and filing on the old pattern ceased, the indictments for a year or even several years simply being bundled together. From 1900 there are only individual indictments, with related items such as those needed to summon a grand jury annexed.
