Original petitions made by convicted persons seeking the revocation or reduction of their sentences. Attached to some petitions are related papers and some returns, made by the governors of convict prisons, of convicts recommended for early release for good behaviour. They continue the contents of HO 17
For references to the pieces see HO 19/8-12, in which the petitioners' names are arranged alphabetically. Opposite their names will be found two numbers, the first of which gives the number of the bundle and the second the number of the document in the bundle. e.g. for J Smith.............. /52/18/, the reference HO 18/52 will bring the bundle, and the document required will be the 18th in the bundle.
