Administrative / biographical background:

This History is all that remains of papers given to the Secret Intelligence Service, SIS (MI6), by Polish Military Intelligence (Oddzial II or Deuxième Bureau) during and immediately after the Second World War. Exhaustive enquiries have failed to locate other papers passed over at the time. They would appear to have been destroyed in the early post-war years as ephemeral once their original usefulness had lapsed.
