  • to help develop the Council's strategies for collecting and disseminating statistics and market information, and for improving market knowledge;

  • to communicate aims and objectives to the relevant staff teams;
  • to secure effective integration with the industry.

Its membership consisted of four Council members including the Chair (as an ex officio member) and ten members nominated by industry.
