War Office: Army Medical Services: War Diaries, Second World War
This series consists of war diaries of the Army Medical Services during the Second World War, including material which would otherwise be found in the WO division: Records of Army medical services.
Public access to this series was previously restricted in that readers were required to sign an undertaking note not to disclose information of a personal nature.
This series is arranged in the order of directors, deputy directors and assistant directors of Army Medical Services of overseas commands, home forces, army groups, armies, British troops, corps, divisions, Parachute Brigade, and garrisons, followed by types of units in alphabetical order. In the case of small commands (e.g. Malta), units are included under the command heading. Special types of units, training centres, etc, if not in the miscellaneous section will be found under the command heading. For war diaries of dominion and colonial forces see piece numbers as follows: India (1928-2543), East Africa (2544-2675), West Africa (2676-2735), Sudan (2736-2749), West Indies (2750-2751), Fiji (2752-2754), and Ceylon (2755-2762).
