Title: | Palace Court: Rule Books |
Description: |
Books giving the texts of rules (orders) of the Palace Court arranged under headings of the dates of the court's sessions. The names of the parties are given in the margin. Many of the rules are of standard types which are given in full and then followed by lists of other cases in which they were made. The great majority of rules were very short, and the surviving order books may record only some of the orders made by the court except for the period 1736 to 1769 when a separate series was kept containing different entries. From 1709 the series is virtually complete until 1812 when the systematic recording of rules may effectively have ceased. |
