Folios 9 – 10: Joseph McDowell, aged 25, Gunner Royal Marine Artillery; disease or hurt, wound of leg. Put on sick list, 6 March 1878, at sea. Sent to Malta Hospital, 23 March 1878, and invalided, 29 May 1878. His left leg was trapped between the slide of a pivot gun and a hammock rack.

Folios 10 – 11: Arthur Soan, aged 20, Ordinary Seaman; disease or hurt, concussion of brain. Put on sick list, 16 April 1878. Sent to Malt Hospital, 25 June 1878, and invalided in August. Struck on the back of the head by a bag of coal, he was unconscious for three hours.

Folio 11: William Hobbs, aged 21, Stoker; disease or hurt, wound of foot. Put on sick list, 12 May 1878, at Xeros. Discharged, 7 July 1878. Given a pension certificate. The sole of the left foot injured by treading on a nail.

Folio 11: William Todd, aged 24, Gunner Royal Marine Artillery; disease or hurt, phthisis. Put on sick list, 2 June 1878, at Xeros. Invalided, 24 June 1878.

Folios 11 – 12: Frederick William Long, aged 30, Leading Seaman; disease or hurt, compound fracture of leg. Put on sick list, 19 June 1878, at Port Baklav. Sent to Malta Hospital by HMS Wye, 25 June 1878, and invalided there, 10 October 1878. His left leg was caught between the slide and boiler of the steam pinnace by the recoil of a gun during drill.
