These documents consist of probates and associated documents of clients of Blandy and Blandy, solicitors. They relate mainly to wills proved or administrations granted between the mid-nineteenth and mid-twentieth centuries.

Arrangement:

The documents are arranged as they were received from the depositor in three overlapping series.

 

These series are :

 

D/EBB B1 Probates etc. 1799-1948 (the majority nineteenth century).

 

D/EBB B2 Probates etc. 1826-1977 (the majority early-twentieth century).

 

D/EBB B3 Probates etc. 1892-1974 (the majority mid-twentieth century).

 

Within each series the arrangement is generally alphabetical. Cross-referencing is used to indicate documents which are filed out of strict alphabetical sequence.

 

The catalogue entries include details of all probates and grants of administration, but do not describe other associated documents unless they are unusual or significant.
