Description:

In consideration of an agreement, a grant and payment for second property listed below between (a) Thomas Ireland of Garlands, Rudgwick, gentleman; (b) John Waller of Rudgwick, yeoman; (c) John Stear, the younger of Rudgwick, blacksmith; (d) John Plumer of Horsham, tallow chandler.

 

I Messuage, buildings, lands commonly called Southland in Rudgwick, containing 18 acres, formerly occ. by Richard Bird, now by John Waller.

 

(a) to (b) to the use of (b) for his life, with (d) as trustee in exchange for

 

II Part of the Manor of Pulborough lying in Rudgwick and land in two parcels called the Grove Monneyers Croft, the two acres, sometime called Locks and formerly part of lands called Maxfields alias Mackfolds, containing 12 acres, late in occ. of James Mitchener, after of Henry Tullet, then of John Laker Napper and now of Thomas Ireland.

 

(b) and (c) to (a), in consideration of £70.

 

Recites: (1) 5,6 September 1806. Lease and release between John Laker Napper and (b) party (c) above.

 

(2) Agreement to exchange.

 

(3) 1704. Purchase by John Ireland of property I from Robert Charman.

 

(4) 2 December 1710. Will of John Ireland, devised land to Maurice Ireland from whom it came to (a).
