Description:

Folios 73-75. Workhouse Inspection Report Form from H Lockwood, Local Government Inspector to the Local Government Board, reporting his inspection of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, on 26 January 1885; includes details of medical provision, the vagrant wards, numbers of inmates, numbers of insane paupers. He notes the number of infants sleeping with mothers. He also states that as previously noted the vagrant wards are badly placed. The vagrants have the task of picking oakham or digging.
Annotated: 'Mr Lockwood, Are you aware from what disease the 15 inmates in the infections wards were suffering', 3 February 1885.
