Administrative / biographical background:

The Church was consecrated in 1866 and administered as a chapel of ease under the Vicar of Harrow until the Curate was given sole charge in 1885. It became a separate parish in 1896.

 

In 1904 the Church was rebuilt to serve the expanding population. Parts of the old building were demolished and a new nave and aisles were consecrated in 1905, transepts in 1925 and a new chancel in 1938.
