Official Fuhrer-Buch issued by the Valais Canton. Contains entries written by climbers who had employed Lochmatter as a guide. The first few pages (pp.33-50) contain an account by W.E. Davidson of Lochmatter's achievements before acquiring this book, including 13 earlier testimonials which date from 1899-1905, which Davidson transcribed into the book and certified as accurate. Lochmatter was killed in an accident on the Weisshorn in August 1933. The final pages of writing (pp.123-134) contain an account of his death by Charles Gos, newspaper cuttings about his death and burial, and two further accounts by his cousin Anna Martin, in German and English. A complete photographic copy of the written entries, made by Emile Gos of Lausanne is stored in a folder with this volume. The folder also contains an extra portrait of Lochmatter, taken by Gos. Dates: (1899 - 1905) July 1907 - August 1933.
