Recital of will of John Mytton (2313/138). The testator died 23 October 1783

 

Thomas Lord Grantham the other trustee died July 1786

 

The trustees sold part of the estate as directed and paid off the debts except the principal of £6500 (£5000 secured to be paid to Noah le Cras and John Probert as trustees for Moses and Sarah Corbet, and £1500 secured to be paid to Moses Corbet by mortgage from John Mytton deceased on his manor of Mouthey and property in Merioneth) and 2 principal sums of £1000 and £1000 secured to be paid to Rebecca Mytton by bonds from John Mytton deceased

 

Recital of bargain and sale of 29 May 1790 (2313/139)

 

Thomas Walley Partington died in March 1791 leaving his co-trustees Stamford and Owen surviving

 

Lease and release of all the property late of John Mytton deceased which was given in his will to the trustees; except the messuage in Maesbury in the parish of Oswestry (Robert Roberts at £36 p.a.) which by lease and release of 24 and 25 March 1785

Were sold to Davies for £900

 

And also except a messuage and garden and hempyard(½a) in Acton Reynold in the parish of Shawbury (late Robert Davies, now Richard Williams); and parcel land called Pains Brook (37. .16) in Acton Reynold (formerly Richard Smith, now John Minor); and tithes of corn and grain from 6 parcels land in Acton Reynold called the Upper Greenway meadow, The Wood Leasow, the Greenfield Croft, the Nearer Cross Waste, the Middle Cross Waste and Further Cross Waste (33a) which were purchased by John Minor of John Smith deceased; and out of land in Acton Reynold (127 acres) which John Minor holds or lately held by lease under Andrew Corbett esq for lives of himself, Lucy his wife and John his son, which were demised and are occupied with a messuage in Grinshill called the Woodstile; and also from a parcel of land in Acton Reynold (2a) adjoining the stank yard belonging to the messuage called the Woodstile (William Hampton as tenant to John Wood of Espley gentleman, proprietor thereof); and from all such part of the common and waste lands within Acton Reynold to be inclosed and allotted to John Minor his heirs or assigns as their proportion of the right of common belonging to the said messuage, garden and hempyard, and also in respect of his right of common belonging to the land purchased by Minor from John Smith; and also from the commons to be inclosed and allotted to Andrew Corbet his heirs and assigns as his proportion in respect of his right of common for the lands etc which John Minor holds or held by lease under him; and from such part of the commons and waste to be inclosed and allotted to John Wood his heirs or assigns in respect of his right of common belonging to the parcel land late in occupation of William Hampton as tenant to Wood; and all other tithes to which John Mytton deceased was entitled or which were granted or intended to be granted by John Corbet to John Mytton deceased;

 

A pew in the north aisle of the parish church of Shawbury belonging to the capital messuage, another part of the hereditaments devised in trust - as described in lease and release dated 24 and 25 March 1785

And also except the capital messuage and demesne lands and other property of John Mytton deceased in Acton Reynolds and Moreton Corbet and the parishes of Shawbury and Moreton Corbet (formerly John Dickin, Robert Beech and Elizabeth Burrey, now or late Richard Smith, Robert Beech and John Sherratt; and tithes of corn and grain which by lease and release of 24 and 25 March 1786

In consideration of £8950 were conveyed to use of Andrew Corbet his heirs and assigns

 

And also except a messuage in the township of Haughton in the parish of West Felton (Thomas Ball) which by lease and release 1 and 2 December 1786

In consideration of £2250 was conveyed to use of Charles Clay his heirs and assigns

 

And also except a messuage and land called the Drill Farm in Sweeney in the parish of Oswestry (144.3.25) (formerly Thomas Sides, since Robert Clay) which by lease and release of (blank) January 1787

In consideration of £2800 was conveyed to use of Robert Clay his heirs and assigns;

 

And also except a messuage and crofts called Plas Bach in the township of Middleton in the parish of Oswestry and land (29a), part of Plas Bach farm (3 closes called Barn Croft (4.0.10), Long Croft (5.0.19), Waine (6.3.0)); small close called Cae Popeth another part of the farm (1.2.32); close called Near Farm, another part of the farm (5.3.14)

 

And also a close called East Farm, another part of Plas Bach Farm (5.2.5); which by lease and release of 3 and 4 April 1789

(3) The Governors of the Bounty of Queen Ann for the augmentation of the maintenance of poor clergy

 

(4) the Revd Lewis Williams clerk, curate of Leebotwood in the diocese of Lichfield and Coventry

 

In consideration of £800, were release to use of Williams and his successors, curates of Leebotwood for the perpetual augmentation of the said curacy

 

And also except closes adjoining (sometime held as 2) called Far Farm and Middle Farm (lately divided into 3 closes) (together 20.0.8), part of the farm called Plas Bach, which by lease and release of 3 and 4 April 1789

(4) The Revd Joseph Plymley clerk, curate of Preen in the diocese of Hereford

 

In consideration of £400, were release to use of Plymley and his successors, curates of Preen, for the perpetual augmentation of the curacy

 

And also except 4 closes (30.1.29), parcel of the farm called Plas Bach, called Cae Gwasted (8.2.12), Pwll Newydd in 2 parts (together 6.0.17), Caer Owen (3.3.19), and Cae Mills (11.3.21); which by lease and release of 3 and 4 April 1789

(4) Joseph Plymley as curate of the curacy of Longnor in the diocese of Lichfield

 

In consideration of £800, were released to Plymley and his successors, curates of Longnor, for the perpetual augmentation of the curacy

 

To use of Stamford and Owen for term of 1200 years on trudt, after to use of John Mytton party his heirs and assigns. The term of 1200 years is limited in use on trust by sale or mortgage to raise sufficient money to pay off the money still due from the late John Mytton, after which the term shall cease
