Administrative / biographical background:

The Society was formed at a meeting held at the Clapton School of Art, the intention being to form a club for the study of architecture. The resulting Society met at the School and visited in the London area, as well as hearing suitable lectures. The Society was wound up in 1922 when the Secretary , Mr Brown, resigned, and it was found impossible to replace him.
