This material is part of the surviving archive of the Wilson Barrett Company, run principally by Frank Wilson Barrett (Wilson Barrett the Younger, 1900-1981), grandson of the actor-manager Wilson Barrett (1846-1904). It includes financial accounts, press cuttings, programmes and other miscellaneous items relating to the Company and its performances from its formation in 1938 until it ceased work in 1955. The company was at first based in London but moved to Edinburgh in 1940, after which it played regularly in Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as occasionally in Aberdeen.
