An original file containing letters addressed to Doris Tomlinson at North Frodingham referring mainly to news of family and friends and receipt of parcels and letters , including: 5 letters from cousin George; 27, 31 May, 14 Jul, 7 Oct 1917; 3 Apr [1918?] 2 letters from 'Dick', Harker stationed in a French town with observations on the treatment of the French by the Germans 24 Sep 1917 and nd [1917]; 1 letter from Charles A Morrell 12 Jun 1917 informing her of the death of 'Will' [Tomlinson]; 1 letter from Captain Montagu informing her of the death of unnamed relative 18 Mar 1918; 1 letter containing 'Hull Battalion's Anthem'; Also with: Printed leaflet entitled 'Crossing the Line Procedure. The Night Previous to Crossing the Line' dated H.M.S. Repulse 23 Apr 1925; Undated notes on 'places where our boys have been during the War since their enlistment into the Army' with references to: Alec, Albert, Fred, Tom, Jack and Will [Tomlinson]
