Description:

Two bound volumes of Covent Garden Theatre accounts, 1758-1759 and 1760-1761. Both appear to be fair copies.


Volume 1 covers the period 18 September 1758 to 22 September 1759 on leaves numbered 1 -58 on the verso top left corner. The first leaf is unnumbered but has, on the recto, manuscript notes beginning 'Memorandum. The Theatre was silenced by Lord Chamberlain from the 22d. January 1759 to the 27th. of the same Month following, both ... inclusive, on the Death of the Princess of Orange.' Leaf 59 is blank and followed by three blank leaves ruled for entries.
Volume two covers the period 22 September 1760 to 5 September 1761. There are 69 unnumbered leaves with accounts, followed by 13 unnumbered blank leaves ruled for entries.
