Witnesses: Esther Ward, widow, of the Generous Briton beershop in Much Lane; William Wells, blacksmith; Christopher Goy, police constable. Accused: Matthew Britton, labourer. Crime: stealing a hat, a shirt, a pair of worsted stockings, a pair of cotton stockings, 2 yards of black woollen cloth, a yard of striped satin, 2 yards of woollen cloth and a handkerchief in the parish of St Peter at Arches, Lincoln. |
