Description:

(i) Grant from King Richard [I] to Frank de Bohun of Ford, Climping, Rustington, Preston [West Preston in Rustington] and Lovynton [Lavant], as they were held by Savaric fitz Savaric, heir of Enjulger de Bohun; and of Midhurst and Easebourne, and all other lands which Savaric fitz Cane and Ralph his son and Savaric fitz Savaric held in Normandy and England in the times of King Henry [I] and King Henry [II]. 31 Mar 1190

(ii) Charter of King Henry [II] confirming an agreement made between Geldwin fitz Savaric and Savaric his brother concerning the land which was of Ralph their brother, viz. that Geldwin should have the manor of Easebourne with Midhurst, the vill of Rustington, his portion of Prestbrookes as divided to him, the moiety of the wood (nemoris) of Strodewycks [Strudgwick Wood in Kirdford], the fee of Ralph de Sancto Georgio [St. George] of Trattington [Trotton], half a hide of land of Liperynges [Lippering in Birdham], the fee of Gernagodus de Palynge [Poling] and of Horemera [? Hormouth in West Wittering], the fee of Richard de Sancto Georgio of the wood between the new bridge and La Knappe [Knepp in Shipley], the fee of Newyce [Newick] and of Scelescumba [Sedlescombe], and all the burgesses which Savaric his father had in Cicestr' [Chichester] in the time of King Henry [I], and should hold twenty librate of land which William, Earl of Arundel gave to Ralph fitz Savaric his brother for his service, i.e. the fee of Ralph de Sancto Georgio of Dedelynge [Didling], the fee of Richard de Sancto Georgio of Demetsforde Dumpford], the land of the manor of Hertynge [Harting], and the land of the manor of Burna [?Westbourne] which are held by William de Caisneto and Gernagodus and Richard Ruffus and Thomas de Assemilla, just as Ralph fitz Savaric held the same. c. 1160.
