Folios 203-204. Workhouse Inspection Report Form from Courtenay Boyle, Local Government Inspector, reporting his inspection of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union Workhouse, on 29 July 1879; includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrant wards, numbers of inmates. It notes that the sick wards are not arranged according to modern principles but are spacious, lofty and kept in clean condition. The nurse has some little knowledge. There are two semi detached infectious wards in the front of the building. There have been some small improvements in the girls' lavatories at the workhouse school.
