An alphabetically arranged series of files containing applications for membership and reports on hosiery firms mainly in Leicestershire by the Hosiery and Allied Trade Research Association including research reports into problems reported by some of the members (shrinkage, colour fastness, staining by machinery etc.). Files for firms beginning with the letters A to G are missing. The collection also includes other working papers and files of Miss Adah Sheppard who, in the course of her long career at HATRA, was, for some time, liaison officer for the Leicestershire companies.
