Administrative / biographical background:

Opened 3 March 1875 as Teams Temporary Board School. When the school moved to new premises in Prest Street it became Redheugh Boys School. On 1 September 1958 it was reorganised as a Junior Boys school and was redesignated in 1967 as a County Primary School. On 12 July 1971 Redheugh County Primary Girls and Boys schools amalgamated. The resulting Junior Mixed School closed 9 April 1974.
