Diaries of Miss Dorothy Holman (1888-1983). The Holman family lived at Holcombe Down, Teignmouth, and various addresses in London between 1904 and 1939, when Miss Holman moved into 25 The Strand, Topsham. She served, during the First World War, as a V.A.D. nurse at the Anglo-French-American Hospital, Paris, and the Hôpital Auxiliaire, Neuilly, in March 1915, at the 21st General Hospital, Ras-el-tin, Alexandria, September 1915 to March 1916, and at the Wulfran Puget Hospital, Marseilles, November 1917 to June 1918. The later volumes are partly concerned with the setting up of the Topsham museum. |
