The Grocers and Spicers formed an Incorporated Company on 10 October 1831, although 'the craft of Spicers' was mentioned in the records of the Merchant Adventurers, as early as 1517.

 

The Grocers and Spicers held their meetings at the George Inn, Pilgrim Street.
