By ANNA MARIA WILLIAMS of Lindfield, widow, to the LEWES and EAST GRINSTEAD RAILWAY CO. - for £1210 - of 3 pieces of land containing in all 4a. 1r. 12p. all part of Lywood Farm in Ardingly formerly in the occupation of Gibbs Crawfurd decd., father of the said Anna and afterwards of Martha his wife and the said Anna. The deed recites the Will of the said Gibbs Crawfurd late of Paxhill Park, esq., dated 12 April, 1828 and codicil of 3 Oct., 1828, whereby he devised the said farm and all his real estate to his daughter Anna Maria Williams (then Anna Maria Crawfurd) subject to his wife's life interest. The testator died, 19 July, 1830, and his Will was proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, 18 Feb, 1831. His wife, the said Martha, died 23 July, 1846. The said Anna married Horatio Wright Williams in 1836 and he went to Australia in 1837 and was never heard of again. The said Anna, after her mother's death became the sole owner of the said farm and the Company purchased the said pieces of land under the Lewes and East Grinstead Railway Act, 1877.
