From: Christopher Potter, DD, dean of Worcester Cathedral; the chapter of Worcester Cathedral To: Robert Mense of Himbleton, Worcestershire, yeoman [Document damaged. A few small areas of text lost or illegible.] 2 messuages and 2 yard lands containing 64 acres in Himbleton, late in the occupation of John Mense, deceased, and now in Robert's occupation. For the lives of Robert and Robert Mense and Thomas Mense, his sons. For an annual payment of 33s 4d, payable as specified in Worcester Cathedral church or the cathedral precincts, 40s for 2 heriots and suit of court to the manor of Himbleton. Conditions on hospitality, repairs, including repairs to the chancel of Himbleton church, and other conditions. Right of re-entry if payment in arrears. Robert agrees to pay any financial burdens imposed on the lands and indemnify the dean and chapter against claims concerning them. The dean and chapter appoint Thomas Boys and Francis Willes, gents, as their attornies to deliver seisin in the lands to Robert. The lease is made partly in consideration of the surrender of the previous lease to Robert, dated 1 Nov 1638, for a term of 21 years. Robert's signature on plica. Dean and chapter's part of indenture. Witnesses: Stephen Richardson; Robert Hunt Endorsed with description in 17th cent hand.
