Description:

Ten photographs (sepia) commercially produced by Lindley & Warren, Photographers, 26 Apollo Street, Bombay.

 

Five photographs have captions on the back written by Lewis Pelly (signed and dated "21/1/68"), as follows: (1) British Residency and Quarter, Baghdad; (2) Arch at Ctesiphon on the Tigris; (3) Bridge of Boats across the Tigris, Baghdad; (4) Sham Peak, Elphinstone Inlet; (5) Rain Water Reservoir, Residency Bushire.

 

One photograph has a caption (unsigned): (6) [Quffa] boat - still in use in Baghdad (coracle). The other four photographs have no captions.

 

The file also contains the front to the envelope in which they were previously kept, which records steps taken, in 1967-68, to identify the photographs.
