Administrative / biographical background: |
Including Grange Road West Church, and the records of Brassey St Mission. The congregation of Trinity was formed in 1863, although the church itself was not opened until three years later. The Brassey Street buildings were opened in 1878 with additions throughout the 1880s, and further buildings opening in 1910. See History 1863 to 1910 (285TRI 14/1) below. The first joint service with Grange Road church was held in January 1943, but it was not decided to dissolve the Grange congregation until February 1951 until when it retained its separate identity. The church building itself was sold in 1948 to the Birkenhead Repertory Theatre. (And see also 286GRA, records of Grange Road Baptist church, Birkenhead, 1858-1910.) |
