Administrative / biographical background:

The Homer Lane Trust was founded by Roy Frye, Cynthia Cross, Roy Schama and John Cross all of whom were members of a pacifist community. The aim of the Trust was to continue the work of the pioneer psychotherapist and educator David Wills. The venture was supported by David Wills who along with Frank Dawtry and Gertrud White joined Frye, Cross, Schama and Cross as the first Trustees of the Homer Lane Trust. Roy Schama was the first treasurer. In 1978 the Homer Lane Trust was incorporated into the Planned Environment Therapy Trust as the aims were very similar and the organisations had a number of trustees in common.
