Listed: June 1983. Condition of deposit: donation, (1892 for first vol and membership book).

Administrative / biographical background:

The Association would appear to have been formed early in 1884 (the minutes for the first four meetings do not survive). The work of the Association came to an end in 1894 when the parishes of Stoke Newington and Hackney, which had been united in 1855, were seperated. The later minutes refer to stretched financial resources and to the work of 'another Association', but they do not indicate exactly why the Association ceased to meet
