Letter from Thomas Marriott, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southwell Union, to the Poor Law Board enclosing a request from the parish of Wellow asking that money invested for them at the formation of the Southwell Union should be released to meet the expense of the new valuation. It gives the background to the dissolution of the Upton Union, incorporated under the Gilbert Act, and about monies retained in case a fresh valuation was required. The statement is signed by 20 ratepayers of Wellow.
Annotated that if a trustworthy valuation is made the Board will consider this proposition.
