Draft letter from the Poor Law Board, to John Kirkland, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southwell Union, with a report from John Lambert, Poor Law Inspector, in which he states that he found the Southwell Union boys' school to be in a very backward state, especially regarding religious knowledge. He also mentions Sarah Omer who has suicidal tendencies. The guardians are requested to seek advice of a medical officer whether Omer should be sent to an asylum.
