Russian Empire: Finland (now an independent republic): Helsinki. 'Sketch of Sweaborg: shewing the Position of the Allied Forces. 17th August 1855 ...': map of the Sveaborg (now Suomenlinna) fortress and its environs. Compass rose. [?Based on part of Admiralty chart 2224]; [by] George Giles, Master, HMS Arrogant. A letter from B J Sullivan, Board of Trade, to [?Captain John] Washington, [Hydrographer, Royal Navy], 16 February 1863, describing the map as '... quite useless, being wrong in every respect ...', is affixed to the edge of the map.
