Description:
Petitioners: Prior and convent of King's Langley.
Addressees: King.
Nature of request: The prior and convent of King's Langley request that the King grant them the livestock, goods and chattels of the manors of Preston, Overland and Elmstone which they leased to Burley for a certain yearly rent, and which were seized into the King's hands by the escheator of Kent by Burley's forfeiture. By the council's advice the livestock, goods and chattels were delivered to the petitioners on condition that if they were adjudged to belong to the King, the petitioners would surrender them, and Hayward and Gilot, their pledges, were bound thereon in Chancery.
