Reference: SC 8/239/11911
Description:
Petitioners: Richard de Plays, son of Richard de Plays.
Name(s): de Plays, Richard
Addressees: King and council.
Nature of request: Richard, son of Richard de Plays, states that in the course of a series of minorities in the reign of Edward I, the manors of Langley Marish and Wraysbury became detached from his inheritance. His grandfather and father sued to recover them, and in the first year of his reign the present King finally sent a writ to the Chancellor, ordering him to inquire into the matter. But before this writ could be put into execution, the father died, and the manors are now in the Queen's hand. He requests grace and a remedy, that his right might be clarified and put into execution, as was begun before.
Nature of endorsement: [None]
