Nature of request: Writ of Richard II ordering the mayor and bailiffs of York to send to the Chancery the record and process had before them in the King's court of York, of the bill by Howom and Sevenhous against Rufford.
Nature of endorsement: Response of Gisburn, Talkan, Warde and Alne to this writ: they were present at York on 4 August 1380 and answered that they cannot send the record and process to the Chancery because no bill was brought before them in the King's court at York by Howom and Sevenhous against Rufford, but there was a petition concerning Rufford delivered to Gisburn by Sevenhous at the request of the commons of York, the tenor of which is in a schedule attached to this writ.
