These files contain the more important papers of the Ministry of Information (1939 to 1946) and are representative of the eleven series of files formerly kept by the divisions or branches of the Ministry.
The files include material relating to the immediate pre-war period and also the Minutes of the Inter-Allied Information Committee (New York), 1940 to 1943. The series is in two parts; the first part comprises non-confidential files (INF 1/1 to INF 1/435) and the second part contains a mixture of classified and non-confidential files.
