Description:

Folios 50-55. Copy report (ff 50-53) from F B Head, assistant commissioner, to Poor Law Commission on disturbance in Milton union, Kent, in which the relieving officer was imprisoned in the church. It was put down by yeomanry and Metropolitan Police. 24 prisoners were taken to Canterbury gaol. Comments on 'misguided men who have risen to oppose they know not what'. Copy of private letter from F B H [Head] to Shaw Lefevre about events in Milton.
