Copy letter from Mr Tope, Master Shipwright's Assistant to the Board. Report on his survey of the area round Milford Haven for the building of ships. Identifies a place on the south side of Pater Church, belonging to William Owins, suitable for storing materials. On the north side of the Haven near Burton Point there is land belonging to Mr Campbell and a shed belonging to Mr Willaker where a 30 or 40 ton ship might be built. At Neland there is a quay for landing timber and the area has several owners. Consulted a shipwright, Howell Williams and spoke with timber merchants, Mr Chitty and William Williams.. Enclosure |
