Reports two cases of people being rescued from drowning and suggests that the rescuers be referred to the Royal Humane Society. Encloses a letter from E F Johnson, and statements from David Beckwith, Ceylon Oliver Lambert, plain clothes Constable Charles E Simons, and the Inspector of Police. The first incident involved Johnson, Beatrice May Gilbert and George Gilbert who were rescued by Beckwith 'assisted by two coloured lads' Orrin Smith and Samuel Smith. The second incident involved Bertram Edward Hall, an ex-private in the Active Service Contingent of the Bermuda Volunteer Rifle Corps, who was rescued by Ainsleigh Smith, 'a coloured man of good physique and a strong swimmer'.
