Description:

The good men of Uza (Dursar) castle to Henry III: King Richard built the castle and demised it to King John. After the war between him and the king of France, Gaston de Berne and other Gascon barons John committed the castle to the vicomte of Tartas who swore to keep the same ordinances and customs as king Richard; after a year and three months he slew some of the people, took 100,000 sous Morlanaix, and compelled them to disown their allegience to the king of England. Simon de Montefort, earl of Leicester, restored the castle; the said men now entreat the king for letters patent as they had of king Richard, now destroyed, in order to maintain their possessions.
